God and You

Are you having questions about how to know God personally and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?  Maybe you are having concerns about  your relationship with Christ.  As you read the following material, ask God to reveal Himself to you.

  1. Agree with God about who you really are

  2. Acknowledge your inability to save yourself

  3. Remember God loves you and has provided all that is necessary for you to be forgiven and have a personal relationship with Him.  (John 3:16-18) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."  The Bible makes it very clear that Jesus was the one who bore our sins, died in our place, was buried, and whom God raised from the dead.  Two followers of Jesus were asked what to do to be saved, they answered "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." (Acts 16:30-31)  When we accept the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as payment for our sin, God forgives us of our sins and enters into a personal relationship with us.

  4. Admit your need for Christ to save you now

If you are ready for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or would like to renew your current relationship, pray this small prayer or a simular prayer in your own words.

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the
door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my
sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the
kind of person You want me to be."

Now that you have taken this first step in accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior it is best to spend time reading God's Word and surround yourself with other Christians who will help you grow in your faith.
